Figurative Language

Figurative- representing by means of a figure or symbol, not in its literal sense.

Figure of Speech-an expression as a metaphor or simile, using words in a non-literal sense or unusual way.

Imagery-mental images, figurative language.

Trope- figurative language or a word in a figurative sense.

All these terms have something to do with figurative language. They all give some type of metal images and are all used in a non-literal sense.
